“But when you pray, go into your [most] private room, and, closing the door, pray to your Father, Who is in secret; and your Father, Who sees in secret, will reward you in the open.”
Matthew 6:6 AMP
While in a time of worship and prayer I felt the Lord say:
“Stay in my rest, don’t take your eyes off of me; listen, I want you to always be in this place. Here, you and your household will be safe from the schemes of the enemy. This is the place I want you to be everyday of your life. I want you to long for my presence for there you are protected.”
Dream. I saw myself helping others outside in a dangerous place. As soon as I finished helping, I saw a plague (an atack of the enemy) flying towards me. I remember immediately getting inside the house and closing the door. I noticed that no harm would stick to me once inside of that place.
There’s a place in God that can be accessed by every believer that is willing to push through. The gates are open through Christ.
“Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.”
Psalm 91:1 NIV
This is the place of His rest, only those with clean hands and pure hearts are able to enter.
“Who may ascend the mountain of the Lord? Who may stand in his holy place? The one who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not trust in an idol or swear by a false god.”
Psalm 24:3-4 NIV
How can I access this place? How can I inhabit under the covering of the Almighty?
“Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.”
Psalm 100:4 NIV
Gratefulness and Worship are powerful warfare weapons. Its constant use keep evil at bay since the Presence of God inhabits in the midst of the praises of His people.
“But You are holy, O You Who dwell in [the holy place where] the praises of Israel [are offered].”
Psalm 22:3 AMP
The Lord inhabits the praises of those who fear Him. No vile thing can prosper in that presence. Everything that is not of God burns to nothing. Impurities starts to vanish from within you. Therefore, when the enemy tries to get near you and he finds that your heart is being transformed by the fire of God, leaves him with less and less ways to attack. Your sinful tendencies are being destroyed by this fire, making your heart purer.
Unfortunately not all believers know or have experienced this place in God, even though they have access through Christ.
What can be happening?
These are just a few reasons:
“And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.”
Hebrews 11:6 NIV
“my people are destroyed from lack of knowledge.”
Hosea 4:6 (a) NIV
3. Self Righteousness:
“Though the Lord is exalted, he looks kindly on the lowly; though lofty, he sees them from afar.”
Psalm 138:6 NIV
*This is the way to get closer to God:
“if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place.”
2 Chronicles 7:14-15 NIV
Being close to Him is not a one day occurrence. You need to practice His presence entering His gates through Praise and worship.
Though He loves it, this is not only about singing to the Lord. It is deeper than that. I’m referring to an obedient lifestyle, where you decide to love Him with all your strength. The Lord considers those who obey Him, his friends (Jn.15:14). This is a lot more than singing songs people.
Nothing touches you in this place. When something bad gets near you, the Lord Himself fights on your behalf against your spiritual enemies, making them flee ashamed. Check this out:
“Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday. A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you.”
Psalm 91:3-7 NIV
This is the place where you learn to hear the voice of God. Where He reveals His purposes for your life and gives you direction.
“This is what the Lord says— your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: “I am the Lord your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go.”
Isaiah 48:17 NIV
“‘Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.’”
Jeremiah 33:3 NIV
Some of you know what I’m talking about. However, I’m pretty sure there are many who doesn’t know how to get in this secret place. Some of you are crying out for more of God right now. That’s why I’m writing this post. Hope you find this useful.
Don’t give up practicing. Run this race to win the first place and follow God’s rules.
“Similarly, anyone who competes as an athlete does not receive the victor’s crown except by competing according to the rules.”
2 Timothy 2:5 NIV
To see results you must be consistent. If you make seeking God your priority, you will enter in, that’s His promise.
Lastly, fall in love with His Word. This is the way to get to know His heart and character. Knowing Him through The Word will keep you from being deceived.
“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”
2 Timothy 3:16-17 NIV
Lord, thank you for your wonderful love towards me. Thank you for preparing a place of safety and making it available to me. Forgive me if I have waisted my time wondering around outside this place. Teach me how to enter in and make a habitation in your presence. In Jesus name, Amen.
Receive this word in the fear of the Lord.
